Charlie White has posted to YouTube as penguinz0 since 2007, and most of his audience knows him as MoistCr1TiKaL. In December 2025 he won Content Creator of the Year at The Game Awards. Since then he has announced two animation projects, one of them reportedly paid for out of his own pocket. This is a sourced look at how a monotone commentary channel got there, which numbers hold up, and what we could not confirm.

The come-up

According to Wikipedia’s entry on Cr1TiKaL, White was born on 2 August 1994 in Tampa, Florida, and created the penguinz0 channel on 7 May 2007, citing the channel’s About page. The entry dates his first Twitch streams to 2018 and puts the channel at 2 million subscribers in March 2018, citing The Daily Dot. We read these details on Wikipedia and did not open the underlying articles.

The same entry lists a run of moments that widened his audience: a viral May 2018 ball-pit video for his husky, a June 2020 chess match against xQc covered by Chess.com, and an October 2020 appearance on Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s Among Us stream. It also records a November 2020 partnership with BroadbandTV. Treat these as Wikipedia’s account of the record, not our own verification.

The recognition

The Game Awards ceremony took place on 11 December 2025. Its Content Creator of the Year category had five nominees, Caedrel, Kai Cenat, Sakura Miko, The Burnt Peanut and MoistCr1TiKaL, and Gaming Nexus’s winners list shows MoistCr1TiKaL as the winner. Search results from Shacknews and GoNintendo carried the same result, and Wikipedia cites Polygon for it; Polygon blocked our fetch, so we did not open that article.

What he is doing now

In September 2026, White announced a 2D hand-drawn animated feature adapted from his comic GodSlap. Cartoon Brew (4 September 2026) reports that Lyrical Animation and White’s Meatier Productions are producing it at Powerhouse Animation Studios in Austin, Texas, with Kellan Stover directing and a 2028 release target. Dexerto (3 September 2026) agrees on the studios and the year, and quotes White: “We’ve got an amazing team.” Both say the comic launched in 2022; Cartoon Brew puts its sales at more than 100,000 copies, a figure Dexerto attributes to Deadline.

The money is the part to be careful with. NetInfluencer (4 September 2026) reports that White says he is the project’s sole financier and has put “millions” of his own money into it. Neither Cartoon Brew nor Dexerto discloses a budget or funding, and no outlet we read gives an amount. So the self-financing claim rests on one outlet, and the size of the bet is unknown.

A second project followed. Dexerto (5 October 2026) reports that Jagex, Lyrical Animation and Meatier Productions are developing a RuneScape animated series, revealed on 3 October at RuneFest in Birmingham. No platform, cast or release date is named, and the next update is promised for 2027.

The numbers, as of October 2026

Wikipedia’s infobox, last updated 15 September 2026, lists 18.3 million YouTube subscribers and 13.907 billion views. That is the only source we have for the subscriber count, so read it as approximate. NetInfluencer cites “over 25 million” followers across platforms, about 145 million monthly views, YouTube videos averaging 1.8 million views and nightly streams of around 15,000 concurrent viewers. Those are NetInfluencer’s figures, undated beyond the 4 September article, and we could not corroborate them.

We are not citing a net worth. The pages that publish one do not show their work, and we found no figure traceable to a filing or a named reporting outlet.

What our checker would add, and why we didn’t run it

YouTube and Twitch are the two platforms our free authenticity checker scores. We did not run it for this piece, so nothing here states or implies a score for his channels. You can run it yourself at /check/youtube/penguinz0; the methodology explains what it does and does not measure.

The bottom line

“Is MoistCr1TiKaL legit?” is answerable on the career: a 2007 channel, a nominee list and winner confirmed by multiple outlets at The Game Awards, and two named studio partners for his animation projects. What is unconfirmed is how much he is spending, how any of it will be released, and anything about his earnings. If a sponsor or partner quotes you a number for him, ask which outlet published it and when.
